Magic
Box Systems is a small IT consultancy based in London UK, focusing
on PC based network support, project development and IT facilities
management. The IT strategy is:
"Maximum IT Impact with Minimal IT presence"
The following points are employed to help us attain this strategy:
|

A strong interest in the client's long term IT Direction, with
an IT strategy in line with its Business Strategy. Is IT a peripheral
to the core business, providing support to the business, or
can it be utilised to actually drive the business forward?
|

In-depth thought on "Dirty Support Fixes". Support fixes are
often quick and dirty, providing a resolve for one user, but
not all users. MBS takes a different perspective on this, and
will recommend projects tasks that should be implemented to
prevent the fault from reoccurring.
|

Development of an IT Calendar that milestones critical processes
to ensure the network is healthy and fine tuned for optimum
performance. E.g. Server health checks, Disaster Recovery tests,
Archive Strategy, Clear Backup Strategy, ISDN phone bill checks,
Password Rotation for high IT Security.
|

Adequate clear documentation of important IT procedures developed
on site. This gives the IT Director full information on how
to perform simple but vital tasks without full dependency on
MBS. E.g Creating new login accounts, and e-mail accounts, clearing
NT event-log error messages, automated backup e-mails, common
printer fault errors with solutions, running bindfix on Novell
Servers.
